The All Ceylon Bakery Owners’ Association (ACBOA) today said that a mobile bakery vendor (‘Choon Paan’) cluster would emerge, if vendors enage in their delivery without following health guidelines.   ACBOA President N.K. Jayawardene told the Daily Mirror that all mobile bakery product vendors strictly adhere to health guidelines when engaging in their businesses.

“The vendors should not touch bakery items after touching money. It is very dangerous. They must use tongs to handle food items,” Mr Jayawardene said.

Their association had received complaints regarding sellers of bakery products not adhering to health guidelines.
Therefore, Mr. Jayawardene requested all Choon Paan vendors to sell their bakery items packed in clear cellophane bags as a safety precaution. He also requested all vendors to wear face masks, safety uniform including gloves.
