Mass Media Minister Bandula Gunawardana said he has not received any complaints regarding the sexual harassment of a former ITN employee and that he has instructed the Ministry Secretary to obtain a formal complaint regarding the incident.

The Minister told this in Parliament while responding to a question raised by SJB MP Rohini Kumari Kaviratne, who urged the Minister to reveal the culprit and take action against him.
“I have not received any complaints so far. When I heard of the incident, I asked Ministry Secretary Anusha Pelpita to obtain a formal complaint from the aggrieved party. He has informed her to make a formal complaint,” the Minister said.

Minister Gunawardana said ITN Chairman Sudarshana Gunawardana, who is overseas, informed him that an external committee headed by a female lawyer has been appointed to look into the matter.

“The Chairman also informed me that the Attorney General’s Department and the Principal of the Law College have agreed to provide consultative assistance regarding the matter,” he said.
