  • Says SLPP would be reorganized soon

SLPP MP Namal Rajapaksa yesterday said no decision has been made by his party to field him as a future presidential candidate.

MP Rajapaksa who was speaking to media after an SLPP meeting at Mihinthalaya said party meetings are held to strengthen the SLPP. “No decision has been made to field me as a candidate in a future presidential election,” he said.    However, he said SLPP would be reorganized soon.

Also he said a second Aragala could bring the tourism industry down once again. “One of the major results of the Aragalaya was the collapse of the tourism industry. However tourists have begun to come back. Therefore I would like to tell everyone who are involved in Aragalaya including Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa, Sarath Fonseka and JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake not to destabilize the tourism industry once again. “This is an industry which brings $ 5 billion to Sri Lanka,” he said.
