Government officials today said that no curfew or lockdown had been planned for the coming days, but schools would switch to an online learning method and government employees would begin a work-from-home policy for two weeks.

A message circulating widely on social media said that “Public administration and defence discussed a lockdown and no date had been given yet. Get all your essentials, not sure. They know there’s going to be mayhem within the next three weeks. Very serious situation. Inform your loved ones to be prepared,” the circulated message read.

However, government officials said that the social media message being circulated was untrue, as no lockdown had been planned.

The Private sector had also been requested to grant its employees a work-from-home policy till the fuel crisis normalises in the coming weeks.
