Alleging that some individuals are publishing various posts on social media about himself and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa yesterday said no one can create divisions within his party.

He came out with this remark while speaking to the public during the SJB protest march in Galigamuwa yesterday.
“We see various posts on social media about the SJB. No one can set anyone in my party against me,” Mr. Premadasa said.

Also, he said a drama has been unveiled in the media today by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. “The media says that the President has offered to form a multi-party interim government with a new Prime Minister, while the Prime Minister is insisting that he will not resign and his brother will never ask him to resign. This is the latest teledrama,” he said.

Mr. Premadasa reiterated that his party will never participate in interim governments with those who have robbed public funds. “We are not going to form governments with thieves. We will only form a government through a real people’s struggle,” he said.  Meanwhile, SJB MP Dr. Rajitha Senaratne said SJB will muster a majority in Parliament next week. “We will show a majority in the House when it meets next month and topple the government,” he said. He also stressed that SJB will not participate in an interim government as long as the incumbent President remains in office.
