The state TV channel Rupavahini should collect funds due from others as well, State Minister of Tourism Diana Gamage said yesterday.   

State Minister Gamage came up with this remark when inquired by Daily Mirror on the allegation that she had not paid a sum of Rs 900,000 due from her to Rupavahini. It was reported that she owes this amount as the sponsorship fee for the telecasting of Nawagamuwa Paththini Devala Perahera. 

 
The allegation that she owes funds to Rupavahini has been circulating over social media during the last few days. 

“The allegation is nothing new to me. I am planning to reveal the true story. This allegation is regarding the Nawagamuwa Paththini Devala Perahera. However, I want them to collect the money Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa owes them. He owes them millions with regard to his presidential campaign in 2019,” Ms. Gamage said.
