• Party filed a plaint when its former Secretary Prof. Vitharana continued to interfere with the LSSP’s political affairs

Colombo District Court yesterday further extended an enjoining order against former Secretary of Lanka Sama Samaja Party (LSSP) Prof. Tissa Vitharana from interfering with the affairs of the party until August 23.   

The court considering a plaint filed by LSSP on July 17, 2023 gave an enjoining order for 14 days till July 31 and then extended it till August 7, when the case was taken up on July 31.   

When the case was taken up again yesterday, the court further extended the enjoining order with 17 days till August 23. Attorney Dishan Dharmasena appeared for the plaintiff.   

The party filed a plaint when its former Secretary Prof. Vitharana continued to interfere with the LSSP’s political affairs, amidst the party’s central committee having appointed a new secretary.
