An invigilator assigned to the Kaluvila Sena Maha Vidyalaya examination centre in Hidogama in Anuradhapura has been arrested on suspicion of sexually harassing a 18 year old schoolgirl sitting for the GCE Ordinary Level Examination. 

The 34 year old suspect was a teacher of a school in Ikirigollewa in Nachchaduwa.  

Police said the suspect had approached the schoolgirl sitting for the history question paper at the rear corner of the examination hall and harassed her. The supervisor of the examination centre had informed the police on following a complaint made by the schoolgirl.  The suspect teacher was produced in court and remanded till June 2.  OIC Women and Children’s Bureau Kumari Wijekoon is conducting further investigations on the instructions of Actg.
