A mosquito fumigation machine was used on opposition members of the Kotikawatta Mulleriyawa Pradeshiya Sabha yesterday (Monday) at a protest staged against the increase in fuel prices.  

A tense situation arose during the protest which was staged near the Kotikawatta Mulleriyawa Pradeshiya Sabha.  
The protesters had attempted to block the vehicle of the Chairman of the Pradeshiya Sabha from leaving the premises resulting in a tense situation.  

A mosquito fumigation machine was then placed on an open vehicle and driven around the protesters.  
However, the protesters stood their ground and continued their protest.
