France has given political asylum to notorious organised criminal Kanjipani Imran, an informed source said.   

He is among the criminals red noticed by Interpol. Initially, he is reported to have fled to Dubai where he operated his criminal activities. Later, he was arrested and brought to Sri Lanka in 2019.   

When he was on bail, he had fled the country again through Mannar to India. From there, he has proceeded to France, where he has obtained political asylum.
