Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) will be revised early next year, Minister of Justice Ali Sabry told Parliament yesterday.

The Minister said the intention of the government will be to introduce a balanced PTA. “We will see that the revised PTA will not affect the security and the economy but will ensure that terrorist activities such as the Easter Sunday attacks will be prevented,” the Minister said.

He said the official committee appointed to revise the legislation headed by Minister G. L. Peiris had almost completed its work.
