• A 25-year-old suspect was arrested in the Ratmalana area with 50 grams of heroin  
• The STF also arrested a suspect at Poruwadanda in Horana with 1,100 synthetic drug stamps

A suspect was arrested with a stock of heroin worth over Rs. 10 million in Mattakkuliya.   Police said that the quantity of heroin found in the suspect’s possession was 1.71kg and the car in which the 27-year-old suspect was travelling was also taken into police custody.  

The suspect was to be produced before court yesterday (29).  

During another raid conducted by the Mount Lavinia Police,  a 25-year-old suspect was arrested in the Ratmalana area with 50 grams of heroin.  Meanwhile, the STF also arrested a suspect at Poruwadanda in Horana with 1,100 synthetic drug stamps worth over Rs. 2 million.  

Investigations have revealed that the drugs had been smuggled from a foreign country .  
The suspect and the stamps were handed over to the Horana Police for further investigations.
