• Acting in violation of the curfew conditions is an offense as per the law

The protesters at the ‘GotaGogama’ protest site near Galle Face Green had been informed by the police yesterday to evacuate the site immediately as they are violating curfew law.   

Police made an announcement to the protesters stating that no person shall be on any public road, railway, Public Park, public recreation ground, or other public ground or the seashore in such areas, except under the authority of a written permit when the curfew was imposed.  They said anyone acting in violation of the curfew conditions is an offense as per the law, as per Section 2 of the Public Security Ordinance.
