Police probe schoolgirl’s allegation of abuse by class teacher

The Katupotha police in Kurunegala have initiated an investigation following a complaint made by a 19-year-old schoolgirl who alleges she was sexually abused by her class teacher. The incident resulted in the girl being admitted to the hospital after she had consumed some pills.   

According to the police, the schoolgirl, who is in Grade 13 and resides in Siambalawa, was transferred to Kuliyapitiya Hospital for treatment.   
The Katupotha Police have confirmed that they have received a complaint regarding the incident and have launched an investigation.   

According to the complaint, the girl alleged that she was sexually assaulted by her class teacher on July 23rd.
