• Tariff revisions have been recommended for those who use a higher number of units

Electricity tariffs of those who uses a excessive quantity of units will have to be increased drastically, Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera said yesterday.   

 Electricity tariff of those who uses a excessive quantity of units such as factories, hotels, residences and other institutions will have to be increased three fold or four fold, the Minister said.  He said a tariff revision has been recommended and those who uses higher number of units will have to shift to alternatives. “ Going for solar panels will be an effective ;alternative,” he added.
