President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is to meet ITAK on Tuesday March 15 2022, TNA MP S. Rasamanickam told Parliament yesterday.   “We have been seeking a meeting with the President for a long time and he had agreed to meet us on Tuesday March 15,” the MP said.

“If the government fails to come up with a solution to the ethnic issue, we will never be able to revive the country’s economy,” Mr. Rasamanickam said.

Mr. Rasamanickam said prices of almost all essential goods will be increased by at least 20 percent soon. “Fuel, bread, medicine had already gone up in price as of now. Prices of almost all essential goods will be increased at least by 20 percent soon,” he said.

“Devaluation of the rupee will have an adverse effect on Sri Lankan students studying abroad as they will have to find more rupees to convert into dollars to settle their education fees,” the MP said.
