President Gotabaya Rajapaksa last night revoked the state of emergency which was in force for the last five days.  

The President declared a state of emergency on April 1 following public agitations in front of his private residence on the same day and in the light of the social media activists calling for island-wide protests to be held on April 3 against the government.
