President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, who are attending the religious observances being held at the historic Kataragama Sacred Area in view of the New Year, called on the Chief incumbent of the Kirivehera Rajamaha Vihara, Ven. Kobawaka Damminda Thera and received blessings.

The President and the Prime Minister called on the Prelate yesterday (31) and inquired into the health and well-being of the Thera.

Minister Mahinda Amaraweera, State Minister Shasheendra Rajapaksa, Governor of Uva Province A.J.M. Muzammil, Governor of the Southern Province Willy Gamage and Basnayake Nilame of the Ruhunu Kataragama Maha Devala Dishan Gunasekara were also present.
