Secretary to the President Dr. P. B. Jayasundara instructed the Public Administration Ministry to take steps for the resumption of normal duties at the government institutions from August 2 onwards, by doing away with special work arrangements made in view of the pandemic, a statement said.

A statement from the President’s Media Division (PMD) said Dr. Jayasundara gave instructions for the cancellation of circulars that provided for public service to  operate on a limited scale with staff being called for duty on rotation.
The statement said the decision had been taken since a large percentage of the population including the public servants had been vaccinated at the moment.
