Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe who has spoken to the Inspector General of Police had Informed him that they must immediately arrest those who instigated the violence against peaceful protesters at Galle Face, Wickremesinghe’s office said yesterday.    

The IGP had informed Wickremesinghe that he had requested the Bar Association of Sri Lanka to assist in overseeing the inquiries.  The former Prime Minister subsequently spoke to the BASL who informed him that they were ready to assist in the inquiries after the first arrests were made.
