• Says COVID task force should be headed by medical experts

Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe did not criticise the COVID-19 vaccine programme carried out by the army or the army commander, UNP General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara said yesterday. 

“What Mr. Wickremesinghe explained clearly was that COVID task force should be headed by medical experts,” he said. “Army commander Shavendra Silva should not have made a public statement on what Mr. Wickremesinghe said without checking it,” Mr. Range Bandara added.
