• The price of crude oil is same as it was during the time of the change of government in 2019

Government should come up with a voucher system to provide fuel or medicine to citizens of over 18 years, former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe proposed yesterday. 

Mr. Wickremesinghe suggested that government could make use of the two million US dollars which it was able to save when the price of a barrel of crude oil went down by  30 US dollars. 

 
“ The price of a crude oil was low until May this year. The price of crude oil is same as it was during the time of the change of government in 2019 . However the price of fuel is similar to the amount which it cost before 2015,” he said.
