Former MP Ranjan Ramanayake has successfully passed the second year examination in Bachelor of Arts in Youth Empowerment and Development from the Open University of Colombo. 

Ramanayake who is also a movie star said he sat for the examination while in prison. He was serving a prison sentence after being found guilty of contempt of court.   
“I have got good results in my second year examination and have two more years to complete my degree,” he told Daily Mirror.   

Ramanayake sat for his GCE Advanced Level Examination in 2019.
