Police seek public assistance to arrest suspect

• Police recover more information into the incident through several CCTV footages. 

Police yesterday sought public assistance to locate a man who left a travelling bag containing a body of a woman on the roadside at Dam Street in Colombo and to identify the woman.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said that the head of the slain person was missing.   

He said the police recovered more information into the incident through several CCTV footages.  

DIG Rohana said that information had been received that the body had been brought to Colombo by a bus travelling from Hanwella to Pettah on Route 143.  
He said the bus has been taken into police custody and statements were recorded from the driver and the conductor of the bus. 

 
During the  interrogation  of the driver and conductor of the bus, it was revealed that a person had boarded the bus with the relevant bag from Hanwella.  
The spokesman requested the public to provide information on the incident to the Dam Street Police OIC  on- 0718 591 557 or to Police Emergency Unit on - 0112 433 333.
