Reservoirs reaching spill level, power generation in full swing

Castlereagh and Maussakele reservoirs were fast reaching spill over level by last morning due to the heavy rain experienced in the central hills.   

Engineers in Charge said that the water level in the Castlereagh reservoir stood 12ft. below the spill level and that of Maussakele reservoir eleven feet below.   

They said Wimalasurendra, Laxapana, New Laxapana, Canyon and Polpitiya power complexes fed by the two reservoirs were in full swing with maximum generation of power.
