 The people in the Kataragama area yesterday dashed coconuts in front of the Ruhunu Kataragama Maha Devala praying to the gods to remove the government in power and to provide relief from the prevailing crisis.   
 More than 1000 people of all political parties from Kataragama, Sella Kataragama, Detagamuwa, Vallimathagama, Kandasrindugama and Gothamigama areas participated.   The Maha Sangha including Chief Incumbent of Jayasumanarama Ven. Dr. Navimana Nalaka and Chief Incumbent of Mallikarama Ven Habaraduwe Gnanamoli Thera and Hindu and Catholic religious dignitaries were present at the occasion.
