• Mrs. Senanayake was elected Mayor in February 2018 and held the post till 2023

Former Mayor of the Colombo Municipal Council Rosy Senanayake has been appointed as the Presidential Advisor on Local Government affairs.  

Mrs. Senanayake confirmed the appointment when contacted by Daily Mirror.  Mrs. Senanayake was elected Mayor in February 2018 and held the post till 2023.  

She worked at the Prime Minister’s office for a short period since 2015.
