• The car had veered off the road and gone down a 50ft deep precipice at Pussella in Ududumbara

A foreign tourist and a Sri Lankan woman died and two others were seriously injured when a car transporting them veered off the road and fell into a 50ft deep precipice at Pussella in Ududumbara on Saturday afternoon (29).  

 They were on a visit to Meemure when they met with accident.  
The deceased were identified as a Russian tourist Uro Lahur (28) and Malani Chandralatha (51).  
A Sri Lankan in Kandy who met the tourist staying in a hotel in Kandy had arranged the tour. The woman who died in the accident was his wife. The driver of the motorcar and the Sri Lankan friend of the tourist had been seriously injured.  
Ududumbara police are conducting further investigations.
