• Working committee unanimously approved the proposal

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) working committee yesterday decided to field its leader Sajith Premadasa as its candidate for the next presidential election.

SJB senior Sujeewa Senasinghe said the working committee unanimously approved the proposal.

The party decided to back a constitutional amendment which enables the President to declare a snap presidential pool. Mr. Premadasa said his party will fully support such a constitutional amendment to enable a snap presidential poll.
