Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella who responded to remarks made by Field Marshal Fonseka earlier yesterday said the latter is not aware of parliamentary procedures.   

“Those who rarely come to Parliament are not aware of its procedures,” he said. Kiriella also said he and his wife had Rs 400 million when they retired from the legal profession. “We have also paid our income tax,” he said. 

 I have uploaded my assets on the Website of Transparency international but those who accuse us have not done it,” he added.   

MP Mujibur Rahman said Fonseka should learn to show gratitude to his party leader. The “SJB leader appointed Fonseka as the party chairman when others voiced their opposition. Therefore the MP should be grateful to the party leader,” he said.
