The view of the SJB with regard to the Israel and Palestine conflict  is that a solution should be arrived at based on a two- state  agreement, Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa said yesterday.

Mr. Premadasa told Parliament that both Israel and Palestine should be made two separate states. “Both Palestine and Israel should be made to exist side by side as separate nations,” Mr. Premadasa said.

“However we condemn the genocide taking place in Palestine where 200 civilians have died to date.
SLPP MP- Shantha Bandara who also emphasised the issue, requested the government to ensure the safety of the Sri Lankan expatriates living in Palestine. “Some of the Sri Lankans who are living in Palestine known to me have requested me to ask the Sri Lankan Government to intervene to ensure their safety,” he said.
