An amount of 102,422 dollars (approx. 33 million in Sri Lankan rupees) was earned last year from the export of Palmyrah toddy, Palmyrah Development Board (PDB) said. 

The board also said that the highest demand for Palmyrah toddy in Sri Lanka has been received from Canada and France and in addition, orders for Palmyrah toddy have been received from many other countries.  There has been a high demand in the Dubai market for Palmyrah toddy, exported under the trademark of Sri Lanka Palmyrah.  

Apart from this, an income of 12 million rupees has been earned from the export of other Palmyrah-related products.
