SL medical experts to visit Cuba to explore benefits from advances in medicine

President Ranil Wickremesinghe , in his meeting with Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, is reported to have sought to send a team of medical experts to explore areas where Sri Lanka can benefit from Cuban advances in medicine.   

A top source familiar with bilateral talks told Daily Mirror that Cuba had developed advanced medical treatment for diseases such as lung cancer and Sri Lanka would seek to benefit from it.  Besides , the president is reported to have requested the Cuban leader to send a team of specialists in the sports sector to train Sri Lankan athletics.    


The president had also agreed to offer Sri Lankan expertise to Cuba for the development of coconut industries in that country.
