(SLFP) submits a strategic plan of the proposed interim government to the President

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) has submitted a strategic plan including the composition of the cabinet of the proposed interim government to President Ranil Wickremesinghe when the SLFP delegation met President Wickremesinghe for a discussion on Thursday noon, a spokesman of the party said.  

The plan included the economic and political formula, the SLFP expects to put in place if and when it got an opportunity to serve in the interim government, he added.  


The main features of the strategic plan was the appointment of  ministerial committees representing all 224 MPs to monitor and advise all ministries and also an official consultative committees comprising experts on respective subjects to ensure the smooth functioning of the state bodies.  


President Wickremesinghe responded positively to the proposals of the SLFP and a further discussion would be held between SLFP leader and former President Maithripala Sirisena and President Wickremesinghe to finalize the programme. Before that, there will be a review of the outcome of the discussion held on Thursday.   
Meanwhile, Sirisena stressed that the SLFP’s support to the Wickremesinghe regime or going against it would be decided on the success of the discussion the party is having with President Wickremesinghe.
