• Ranil Wickremesinghe  invited all parties to join in reviving the country’s economy and had positive response especially for the 21st amendment

Responding to reports that are being posted on social media that around 40 SLPP MPs will join the UNP, the party General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara yesterday said there are many who have expressed their willingness to join.   

“ There are many who are willing to join UNP but it is difficult to give a time frame as to when they would cross over,” Range Bandara said.   

Meanwhile UNP Assistant Leader Akila Viraj Kariyawasam told a media conference that Party Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe had invited all parties to join in reviving the country’s economy and that he had got positive response especially for the 21st amendment. “ The number of votes which were received in favour of the legislation is more than what was expected,” he said.
