• The PS member had come to the Galpatha area with a group of others to consume alcohol

A Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Panadura Pradeshiya Sabha member who had been harassing residents of Galpatha under the influence of alcohol had been tied to a lamp post by a group of residents in the area.

Police said that the PS member had come to the Galpatha area with a group of others to consume alcohol.  
The PS member had reportedly left the group and had behaved in an indecent manner harassing the residents of the Bahurupola area in Galpatha.   The residents had caught the suspect and tied him to a lamp post and later handed him over to the Kalutara (North) police.  The suspect is to be produced before the Kalutara Magistrate’s Court.
