• SSP Thalduwa who served as the Director of the Terrorism Investigation  Unit was appointed as the new Director of the Police Media Unit in March  2021

Senior Superintendent of Police Nihal Thalduwa has been appointed as the new Police Media Spokesman with effect from yesterday.  

 The Public Security Ministry Secretary approved the appointment.  

SSP Thalduwa who served as the Director of the Terrorism Investigation Unit was appointed as the new Director of the Police Media Unit in March 2021.  

He succeeds SDIG Ajith Rohana who served as the Police Media Spokesman for 11 years on four different occasions since 2011.  

SDIG Ajith Rohana was recently promoted to the rank of SDIG and assigned as Senior DIG of Police Traffic and Crimes.
