Sacred Monument of Seetha Amman Temple N’ Eliya presented to Ram Mandir in India



 

The symbolic Sacred Monument of a stone carved from where Seetha was kept in captive by Ravana was handed over to Chief Priest of Sri Ram Mandir, Shthendradas by Milinda Moragoda, High Commissioner to India yesterday (28th October) at Ayodhya.  

The Ram Mandir is a Hindu temple that is being built in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India, at the site of Ram Janmabhoomi, the hypothesized birthplace of Rama, a principal deity of Hinduism.   


On request of Narendra Modi- Prime Minister of India from the Government of Sri Lanka, this symbolic Sacred Monument was collected by Member of Parliament- Mr. V. Radhakrishnan, Trustee - Seetha Amman Temple, Nuwara Eliya, Mr. S. Sundaralingam, Trustee - Mayurapathi Amman Temple, Mayura Place, Colombo 06 and Mr. E. Muthukrishnan, a leading Businessmen in Colombo, in the presence of HE Shri Gopal Baglay - The High Commissioner of India in Sri Lanka at the function held at Mayurapathi Amman Temple Hall on Thursday, 18th March 2021.
