• Ranjith Madduma Bandara under quarantine and will undergo PCR tests together with  few SJB MPs

Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa who was tested COVID-19 positive yesterday said he is asymptomatic and is currently being treated in hospital.  

“My wife was admitted to hospital with symptoms of COVID-19. She subsequently tested positive having done a PCR. Following health guidelines, I did a PCR as well and was informed a short while ago that I too have tested positive. While my wife is being treated for her symptoms, I remain asymptomatic. We are both currently being treated at hospital,” Mr. Premadasa said in his Facebook post. 

“Leading the opposition’s role in ensuring the safety of the people during these extremely difficult times, remains my priority, and I will continue to do my part in this united effort. I urge the public to remain safe and follow all health guidelines as we fight this wave together, as a nation. We can beat this,” he added. 

Meanwhile, Daily Mirror learns that SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara is under quarantine and was to undergo a PCR test together with a few other SJB MPs.
