Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa was a victim of the mayhem which erupted in front of Temple Trees and at Galle Face yesterday.  

Mr. Premadasa was attacked by the group of protesters after he arrived at Galle Face.   

He arrived with MPs Eran Wickramaratne and Kavinda Jayawardana at the location.   

Mr. Premadasa was walking towards the Presidential Secretariat together with Dr. Jayawardana and Mr. Wickramaratne when some men approached him and threw poles at him. He came under continuous attack.  
MP Wickramaratne told Daily Mirror that Mr. Premadasa, himself and Dr. Jayawardana were also hit by water bottles.  

“We were attacked by pro-government protesters and as they approached us we were told by the pro-opposition protesters not to move further,” he said.  

Mr. Premadasa was taken away from the location by his personal security officers. However his vehicle was damaged.
