A Samurdhi Development officer who reported for duty in officer and spent the day in a hotel in Anuradhapura in the company of a woman was found dead in the hotel room.  

The victim was an official attached to Sandaresgama Samurdhi Bank and father of two children.  

Police said he had arrived to the hotel at Gemunu Mawatha off New Puttalam road in Anuradhapura on Saturday morning with a woman, and died in the afternoon.   

The woman who was in his company had called the 1990 Ambulance Service and made arrangements to admit him to hospital but the doctor who examined him pronounced him dead. 

 Investigations revealed that he had been visiting the hotel over a long period and that the woman who came with him was a housemaid who had returned to the country, and that his wife was a government servant.  
Anuradhapura Inquirer into Sudden Deaths J.M.Jayatilleka held the preliminary inquiry at the scene and ordered the police to refer the body to the JMO Anuradhapura hospital for postmortem examination.
