School children arrested for loitering near home of drug peddler

A group of school children frequenting a shanty house of a drug peddler was arrested and handed over to their parents after a severe warning, they were about 18 years of age and they had left home under the pretext of attending tuition classes.

Investigations revealed that they had collected money from other children in the tuition classes by threatening and intimidating them.


Police said two of the children who had in their possession a stock of Ganja would be produced in court.  A Police team under CI Dhammika Nagahawatta, and SI Nuwan Tharanga of the Galle Police had carried out the raid.
