Schoolboy struck by fan blade, dead

A student of Pussellawa Hindu College received serious injuries when the ceiling fan in motion hit his head, and died on admission to hospital.   
The victim Rajaratnam Sadushan (15) was a grade ten student of the school.   

 Investigations revealed that after a ceremony to mark the International Children’s Day, held at school, a group of children including the victim had enjoyed themselves by singing and dancing on desks and tables in their class room and that the fan blade had struck the boy’s head.   


Police said the boy was rushed to Pussellawa divisional hospital and transferred in a critical condition to Gampola Teaching Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.   
Pussellawa police are conducing further investigations.
