A seven-year-old boy had drowned in the swimming pool of a hotel in Kandy, the police said.

The victim’s elder brother, who also sustained injuries in the drowning incident, had been admitted to the hospital in critical condition.

The two boys had stayed in the hotel with their parents for vacation. The police believe that the young one had fallen into the swimming pool and his brother jumped into it to rescue him from drowning.
