Shoot dead those involved in large scale corruption - SLPP MP

Those who are found guilty of large scale corruption should be shot dead, a Member of Parliament told Parliament yesterday.  

SLPP MP Nalaka Kottegoda told the House that the time has come for the government to take radical action with regard to corruption. 

 
“The anti-corruption laws should be implemented according to a particular time frame. Therefore we propose that the laws should be made effective from a certain date. 
Those who are found guilty of large scale corruption after that date should be executed by shooting in the head,” the MP said.  

“One has to be radical to prevent corruption. Also geo politics should be handled in a radical way like countries such as Singapore and Malaysia,” he added.
