Shooting at Mulleriyawa Rs.2.5Mn reward for informant on main suspect

The Police Headquarters announced that Rs. 2.5 million cash reward will be awarded for a successful informant of the main suspect in the shooting incident in which a 42-year-old man was killed and another was injured when a gunman on a motorbike opened fire at them at Kotikawatte in Mulleriyawa on Monday.

The suspects who had come for the shooting on a motorcycle had come inside the house wearing full face helmets and had carried out the shooting.
The police released photographs of the main suspect seeking public assistance to find him. 


The police emphasized the public that the information provided in this regard will be kept strictly confidential and will never be disclosed to an outside party.


The suspect, 30-year old is identified as Ponnamperuma Arachchige Don Danush Buddhika alias Jile, resident of No. 42/02, Baron Thilakananda Mawatha, Mulleriyawa New Town bearing the ID number 911854481V.  Police also revealed the address of the suspect's wife as of No. 333C, Robert Gunawardena Mawatha, Malabe. Police said the suspect has tattoos on both his arms from shoulder to elbow. Angoda, Himbutana, Mulleriyawa New Town, Weligama, Midigama, Hikkaduwa and Galle are identified as the areas frequented by the suspect. The registration number of the motorcycle on which the suspect arrived for the shooting is WP XV 5432.


Police requested the public if they have any information on the suspect to the Director, Colombo Crimes Division via 071-8591727 or 077-7370360 and to Director / Western Province (South) Crime Division via  071-8592279.
