A person who came to a nightclub in the Kiribathgoda area fired several shots into the air with his pistol at around 2 am yesterday and fled the scene with his friends in a car, police said.

 Kiribathgoda Police said that the person, under the influence of liquor, had reportedly had an argument over a girl and had fired four shots inside the club and two shots outside.
Police said no injuries and no damage to property were reported due to the incident.

The Kiribathgoda Police are investigating to arrest the suspect after checking the CCTV footage, they said.
