 Some politicians who claim to be an alternative to the  present rulers of the nation are planning to gate crash into protests organized by the social media groups and take control of the protests, one of the social media groups alleged yesterday. 

The protesters said they are affected by the power crisis and asked the government to resolve the issue as soon as possible.   

The protesters blocked the Galle Road by parking a truck across the road.   Meanwhile, a tense situation was reported from the Moratuwa Muncipal Council as the opposition members staged a protest.   

Member of the Municipal Council Leehini Fernando said the opposition members began referring to the country’s present situation and various issues faced by the people during the council’s monthly sessions when the sessions were suddenly stopped by the Mayor.   “ The Council members then came out of the Municipal Council and staged a protest,” she said.
