Soldiers suspended over alleged harassment of people in Eravur

Several soldiers, who were involved in alleged harassment of a group of individuals in Eravur, have been suspended on the directive from the Chief of Defence Staff and Army Commander General Shavendra Silva.   

The Army said an initial Military Police investigation has already commenced after certain photos went viral depicting alleged harassment of a group of civilians in the Eravur area.  


It was reported that the soldiers in Eravur allegedly forced people who violated the travel ban, to get down on their knees and raise their hands.
