Soliciting a bribe from man violating travel restrictions Cops face interdiction

Two policemen have been interdicted for obtaining a bribe of Rs. 2,000 from an individual who was travelling violating travel restrictions, at Norochcholai in Puttalam.  

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the Puttalam Division SP conducted an investigation following the incident.  The policemen would be charged for the offence of taking a bribe and would also face disciplinary action.  DIG Rohana said tough action would be taken against any policeman or officer found soliciting bribes, especially during the travel restrictions period.
